Tous pierres debout qui, parfois, soutiennent d’autres pierres en table&nbsp;; monuments bâtis en vue de l’éternité. Il est alors inconcevable que leurs bâtisseurs n’aient pas usé de modèles, de maquettes, avant de lancer leurs travaux. La forme des pierres C’est aussi le travail d’Alain Béguerie ; ce qui confère la durée à ces empilements de papier ce n’est plus la lourdeur des pierres, leur forme, la structure de leur assemblage, mais les photos qu’il en prend. La dimension disparaît, on pourrait croire à des maquettes, alors que cela en est l’inverse, la maquette représente au plus près, ces œuvres figurent au plus large un paysage. Elles en sont constitutives, c’est celui de l’artiste ; elles le façonnent. De petits objets qui ne veulent rien représenter, qui renvoient simplement, efficacement, à l’éternité de certaines traces. Formes connues, reprises, retravaillées ; non pas une sorte de «&nbsp;déjà vu&nbsp;»&nbsp;; un nouveau que l’on reconnaît. jonchent le sol au gré du vent, du balancier des saisons. Des feuilles, ici et là, s’accrochent pourtant de leurs griffes, de leurs nervures, dans leur soif de déjouer un temps la menace, de prolonger le sursis si vite expiré qu’est un passage sur cette terre - un cheminement gravé sur leur peau de rides et de gerçures, incrusté sur une écorce craquelée de vieilles blessures, d’une tenace écorchure. On les dirait habitées d’un obscur refus de se plier au lot commun, de se résoudre au dernier adieu, de rejoindre le final charnier. En un ultime sursaut, elles oublient les souffles mauvais, les tempêtes, les ressacs, trouvent la ressource de se draper de leur livrée d’apparat, d’éclabousser les alentours des vestiges de leurs feux et de darder, au cœur des ombres, leurs lueurs de jais et de charbon. De furtives caresses se déposent alors sur la pelure des nuits étonnées, et ces feuilles, à la robe soudain défroissée, entonnent un chœur de murmures, de psaumes, qui bourdonnent en sourdine sous les étoiles et disent leur rêve de saluer d’autres matins encore, le sacre de nouveaux soleils.&nbsp; &nbsp; C’est bien un herbier survivant que recueille Alain Béguerie dans ses chatoyantes et si émouvantes photos. Des feuilles fanées, mortes en apparence, ont échappé à l’effritement, au pourrissement des choses et gardé la flamboyance intacte de leurs tulles, de leurs dentelles. Leurs moisissures s’enfièvrent d’un ferment enfoui, d’une extase lointaine, elles tressaillent, éclatent de sucs, de vapeurs, de rosées mutines, de cascades de buées. Le bâillon se déchire, le jardin s’anime de l’écho des retrouvailles, le silence se peuple de conciliabules secrets, l’horizon s’empourpre des lueurs fauves d’ insoupçonnés incendies. Loin des flétrissures, le glas funèbre le cède à l’aubade des clarines et la terre décomposée se remémore les orages de la jouvence du monde. Presque toujours, il s’agit d’une ressemblance inattendue, improbable et pourtant naturelle, qui provoque la fascination. De toute façon, les pierres possèdent on ne sait quoi de grave, de fixe et d’extrême, d’impérissable ou de déjà péri. Elles séduisent par leur beauté propre, infaillible, immédiate, qui ne doit de compte à personne. Nécessairement parfaite, elle exclut pourtant l’idée de perfection, justement pour ne pas admettre d’approches, d’erreurs ou d’excès. En ce sens, cette beauté spontanée précède et déborde la notion même de beauté. Elle en offre à la fois le gage et le support. C’est que les pierres présentent quelque chose d’évidemment accompli, sans toutefois qu’il y entre ni invention ni talent ni industrie, rien qui en ferait une oeuvre au sens humain du mot, et encore moins une oeuvre d’art. L’oeuvre vient ensuite ; et l’art ; avec, comme racines lointaines, comme modèles latents, ces suggestions obscures, mais irrésistibles. Ce sont avertissements discrets, ambigus, qui à travers filtres et obstacles de toutes sortes rappelle qu’il faut qu’il existe une beauté générale, antérieure, plus vaste que celle dont l’homme a l’intuition, où il trouve la joie et qu’il est fier de produire à son tour. Etendus, les tissus qui ont touché la peau. On est sorti de la maison, de la chambre, pour les confier aux éléments. La pratique est commune, efficace, le linge sèche. On est entré dans la forêt. Au cœur des branches et des feuilles, vert sur noir, brun sur bleu, l’intime est exposé mais sans trop, il y a du camouflage par ici. De la discrétion. Car l’obscure lumière fait des draps un écran. Une deuxième image.
